Sydney-based AI property intelligence provider honoured for helping insurers make faster, more informed decisions when managing claims

Guidewire, the platform insurers trust to engage, innovate, and grow efficiently, has named Sydney-based Sync Technologies as this year’s winner of InsurPitch Sydney held at The Mint earlier this month, among an audience of 189 insurtech innovators, investors and industry leaders, including representatives from 18 individual insurance companies.

Selected from the five finalists, Sync Technologies won the competition based on the development of a visual-first platform powered by cutting-edge technologies and AI-enablers for managing, analysing and collaborating on property claims and repair and restoration projects arising from such claims, delivering cost reductions and efficiency gains in traditionally inefficient industries.

The live pitch event featured five insurtechs who were judged by:

• Bryn McKay, Chief Operating Officer, Codafication
• Daniel Dearsley, Claims Value Owner, Hollard Insurance Australia
• David Abrahams, Group Chief Technology Officer, IAG
• Danielle Whitelock, Chief Operations Officer, Achmea Farm Insurance
• Imran Ilyas, Global and U.S. Guidewire Alliance Leader, PwC
• Shaji Sethu, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, Guidewire
• Simone Dossetor, Chief Executive Officer, InsurTech Australia

 

Attendees also participated by voting in a live mobile poll, giving an added voice in selecting the event winner.

Sync Technologies will now be featured at Guidewire’s annual Connections conference in Las Vegas, attended by more than 3,000 top industry executives, investors, and media in October 2026. The company will also be featured in an upcoming episode of the InsurTalk podcast.

The four additional finalists included:

• Haven ERM (Melbourne), the world’s first clinician-led digital psychological safety and disclosure management platform – built for prevention, not just compliance.
• myVal (Sydney), an app that uses AI to document and manage your home contents for insurance purposes, ensuring your belongings are accurately recorded and protected.
• Raindrop (Darwin), an AI-powered platform that transforms complex policy wordings into structured, usable data. This helps professionals, consumers and AI agents accurately understand, compare and transact insurance products with confidence.
